Please reach us at hello@maven-movement.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Maven Movement is an adult dance program where all participants must be 18+. Our most popular programs are our heels dance performance and training programs, however we offer series and workshops in studio jazz, lyrical, hip hop, props and chair, tap and more!
Absolutely! Our beginner level classes are designed with those brand new to dance in mind. These classes move at a beginner friendly pace, cover the basics of foundations and support a safe and supportive exploration of dance.
Select clothing that enables unrestricted movement and ensures your comfort throughout our classes! For hip hop, lyrical, or studio jazz sessions, go for sweatpants or shorts paired with tank tops or t-shirts, and clean indoor sneakers (for hip hop), bare feet, or jazz shoes (for jazz and lyrical). In our heels classes, opt for yoga pants or shorts, complemented by t-shirts, tank tops, sports bras, or bra tops. You might also want to consider adding high-waisted underwear and fishnets for an extra touch of style.
For optimal ankle support during heels classes, opt for boots rather than stilettos. Here's a pro tip: height isn't everything when it comes to heels. Consider starting with kitten heels, wedges, or boots featuring a thicker heel, especially if you're new to dancing in elevated footwear. Prioritize footwear with clean, non-marking soles designed for studio use, and you'll be set!
Not keen on wearing heels? No problem at all! You're more than welcome to join us in footwear that lets you move with comfort and confidence.
Our class rates are based on the type of programming. Drop ins and workshops have designated rates based on class length, frequency and guest instructor. Performance programming is packaged for savings and always have a payment plan option!
