Code of Conduct
Updated July 9, 2024
Maven Movement is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can participate without fear of harassment or discrimination based on gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or any other protected category. We enforce a strict policy against all forms of harassment and take violations seriously.
Participants in Maven Movement programs are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Respectful Conduct: Treat all participants with respect and consideration. Our aim is to ensure that every individual experiences a positive and supportive environment. Refrain from making jokes or comments that could be interpreted as derogatory or offensive to others. Consider the impact of your words and actions on those around you.
- Intervention: If you witness harassment or any behavior that makes you uncomfortable, we encourage you to speak up politely. Often, individuals may not be aware of the effect of their actions, and addressing the issue promptly can prevent escalation. Our team will take appropriate action, which may include removal from the program without refund, against individuals who engage in harassing behavior.
- Definition of Harassment: Harassment includes but is not limited to verbal abuse related to gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, or any other protected category; sexual imagery in public spaces; intimidation; stalking; following; intrusive photography or recording; disruptive behavior; offensive language; unwelcome physical contact; and any form of unwelcome sexual attention. Participants must cease such behavior immediately upon request.
- Consent: Always obtain explicit consent before engaging with someone, whether for conversation, interaction, or physical contact. Consent must be clear, enthusiastic, and ongoing. Never assume consent; when in doubt, ask.
If you experience harassment, witness harassment towards others, or have any concerns regarding behavior at our events, please promptly inform a member of our team. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all participants in Maven Movement programs.
